Product Stewardship

  • Product Stewardship for Straws
Plastic makers support a number of programs designed to reduce waste, educate consumers, and expand waste management technologies and infrastructure.

Building and Construction

  • Infographic: Building with the Power of Plastics
Today's plastics can help architects, owners/managers and specifiers to meet sustainability goals for new and retrofit building solutions in commercial, residential and infrastructure construction. Advanced continuous insulation, sealants, windows, doors, siding, flooring, roofing, foundations, decking, and piping made with advanced plastics can dramatically improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and CO2 emissions and help us to do more with less.

Marine Debris

  • America's Plastics Makers Contribute to Solutions on Marine Litter
America's Plastics Makers in 2011 helped lead the development of the Declaration of the Global Plastics Associations for Solutions on Marine Litter (Global Declaration), a global commitment to combat ocean pollution. Sixty-four plastics associations in 34 countries have signed the Declaration, and as of the last progress report (2016) more than 260 marine litter projects are planned, underway, or completed around the globe.
  • Workable Solutions for Marine Litter
The American Chemistry Council and its members agree that plastics don't belong in our oceans and waterways. We stand with those scientists and policy makers who have found that effective solutions require actions to increase litter prevention, improve waste management infrastructure, and develop strong regional and international partnerships.
