Each year, ACC’s Plastics Division holds the
Innovation in Plastics Recycling Awards, which highlight innovations in the plastics recycling industry by recognizing companies and individuals whose vision and perseverance bring new technologies, products and initiatives to the marketplace.
The awards are open to all U.S. companies, individuals and government bodies (including schools) that either (1) collect or process plastics for recycling (2) manufacture equipment used to collect or process plastics for recycling or (3) manufacture a new product made in whole or part from recycled plastic.
Innovations in collecting or processing plastics for recycling may include processes or processing equipment; finished products; initiatives; training or education programs; or recycling promotions like campaigns, partnerships and recycling drives.
In 2012, KW Plastics, Safeplay Systems, and Sony Electronics Inc. were honored. The 2012 winners developed innovative processes and/or products using post-consumer recycled plastics. » Read the 2012 press release
