When I Grow Up (Part 2)


Standard*: A.4.3-Read and discuss literary and nonliterary texts in order to understand human experience.

Objective: Students will learn how to use the Classified Ads section of the newspaper to further their understanding of the educational steps necessary in preparing for various careers.

Materials: Several Classified Ads section, paper, pencils, and chart paper

Activity: Students will work in pairs to locate jobs that require helmets with a focus on educational requirements,(high school/college diploma) previous experience, and income potential. Information will be collected, shared, and recorded on a chart for comparison and discussion.

Assessment: Students will now make changes/additions to their previous list of reasons why or why not they might be interested in any 2 of the helmet occupations.
